Please read before you start the pattern:

Gauge

15 single crochet x 16.5 rows = 10cm

Finished coaster is approx. 14 cm x 12.5 cm

 

WARNING: Please use common sense around hot beverages!

Don’t put a cup on the coaster that doesn’t fit easily within the circle.

MATERIALS

  • Worsted weight yarn (KnitPicks Dishie Cotton)
    Silver
  • 3.5mm crochet hook
  • Lanyard Clip
  • Pony Beads – 9mm (40 beads)
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle

ABBREVIATIONS

  • sc – single crochet
  • ch – chain
  • sl st – slip stitch
  • fasten off – cut the yarn and pull through
  • st – stitch
  • (#) – total number of stitches at the end of the row
  • * * – repeat the stitches inside the asterisks
  • ( ) – complete the stitches inside the brackets in the same stitch

The Pattern

The chain 1 does NOT count as a stitch

Working in rows and turning each row

Bobble stitches are worked in even numbered rows

 

Row 1: Ch 17, (working in the back bump of each ch), sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each remaining ch  (16)

Row 2 – 3: Ch 1, sc in each st  (16)

Row 4: Ch 1, 6 sc, bobble, sc 2, bobble, sc 6  (14 sc, 2 bobble)

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in each st  (16)

Row 6: Ch 1, 4 sc, bobble, sc 6, bobble, sc 4  (14 sc, 2 bobble)

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in each st  (16)

Row 8: Ch 1, 2 sc, bobble, sc 10, bobble, sc 2  (14 sc, 2 bobble)

Row 9: Ch 1, sc in each st  (16)

Row 10: Ch 1, 2 sc, bobble, sc 10, bobble, sc 2  (14 sc, 2 bobble)

Ch 1, turn the piece and sc evenly across the side of the coaster in the ends of the rows  (18 sc),

Ch 1 in the corner, sc in each st  (16 sc),

Sl st to first ch 1

 

Fasten off and weave in ends
