Week 9 – Back in the Naughty Corner

I’m back in Meta’s naughty corner.

Apparently, you can be as racist, misogynistic, ableist, and awful as you like on Meta’s platforms, but you cannot call out ethnic cleansing and genocide. That will get you put on the naughty stool! Zuck loves himself some censorship.

So, I’m on a week-long ban from commenting on Facebook. Sorry – I’m not ignoring anyone! Facebook just hates when you call out bullshit. Man, I really need to get off Meta.

I guess I’ll have more time for the rest of the week to work on my projects and troll Reddit.

The fuckery continues this week, and I am so exhausted. I just want to work on my silly little crochet projects and sit outside with the birds.

Last night, we were about to sit down for some Breaking Bad when Trump’s bloated face came up on YouTube. And we watched 8 minutes of disinformation and propaganda about why he has agreed to help 1srael attack Iran. WW3 – here we come!

At this stage, I simply cannot understand how people are still part of the MAGA cult. Is it brainwashing or an inability to think critically? Or both?

So (if you were old enough to remember the Iraq War), here we go again.

Other shit from this week:

… and these are only the headlines I can think of off the top of my head.

I finished the 4th newborn Pound Puppy this week, and I think this one might be the best. The yarn is the worst to work with (of course). I had to sew the pup together with thread because the Nippers kept falling apart, which is fairly standard for chenille. I’ve started the big Pound Puppy that I am planning to enter into the Royal Adelaide Show later in the year.

I finished TWO Overlay Mosaic panels this week, so I have all six done! I need to add the borders and then join them all together. I’m surprised at how long-winded this project has been! The pattern is going to include 9 charts, so you can mix and match, along with Stitch Fiddle links and written instructions.

We are on to season 3 of Breaking Bad. I have forgotten so much of what happened, so it’s great to be surprised. I remember roughly what happens, but not the details of how the storylines fit together. What are we going to watch after this? I was thinking Dexter, but the show really went downhill fast at the end. Plus, the final episode was one of the worst in TV history.

I finished reading Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. I was pleasantly surprised, although I think there wasn’t enough explanation in the text regarding the world-building. Don’t put everything in a dictionary of terms at the end – explain in the prose! 4/5 stars. I put the next book in the series on hold on Libby. I’m finally reading Red Sister by Mark Lawrence. The Empire of Thrones is one of my favourites, so I’m hoping this series will stack up. So far, so good.

My sister has been working on the custom order for the Agemon Doll. It’s looking great so far! It’s complicated and has a wire skeleton – very similar to the Crow Widower that I made from Fiber Figments a while back.

It’s been a bit slow this week. I’m wondering if it’s because of the state of the world or because people simply have less money to spend on patterns due to the cost of living. I get it… It’s tough out there; people are struggling to buy the basics, let alone crochet patterns!

Random patterns have been selling this week.

Gloves have been popular, including the Lemon Peel and Feather Stitch ones.

The Fidget Bead Key Fob has also been popular. I love these because they’re so quick to make. I have given quite a few as gifts, and they’re amongst the fidgets that I made to donate to Backpacks 4 Kids here in South Australia.

Stay safe in the coming week, my friends. Spend time outside, if you can. Let’s try to remember how beautiful this world is and not let egotistical psychopaths destroy it.
